The speaking portion of the TOEFL exam consists of 2 Independent tasks and 4 Integrated tasks.
Speaking clearly and logically and using correct English pronunciation are important. Here you will be speaking directly into a microphone and will later be graded by two different evaluators.
The Independent Task will ask you to talk about a familiar topic such as describing a person, place, object, situation, or opinion.
The Integrated Task will have you read a passage then listen, and then respond to an academic situation. It does not ask for your opinion. Or you may be asked to simply listen to a conversation and respond by summarizing what was being discussed and then giving your opinion.
During this task, it’s important to be clear and confident. You can try practicing at home by timing and recording yourself.
